Drooping of the eyebrows can result in a sad, angry, or tired look. As ageing progresses wrinkles appear in the forehead area, and frown lines between your eyebrows may get deeper. The brow lift procedure can improve these issues and give a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance.
For women, an aesthetically pleasing brow often rises from near the top of the nose through an arch, then into a lateral peak before a very slight downturn. It is pleasing for the brow to be at or slightly above the bony rim of the eye socket, usually just over 2 centimetres above the pupil.
A brow lift will raise your eyebrows to a higher and more aesthetic position if needed. It is often performed in conjunction with eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, or a facelift.

The Procedure

A brow lift tightens the skin and muscles around the forehead and elevates the eyebrows. Incisions are generally made behind the hairline to reduce scarring. The procedure is performed under general anaesthetic.

Recovery from Brow Lift Surgery

You may experience a sense of tightness, numbness, or itchiness of the scalp and forehead after surgery. This will vary with each individual. You should be up and about in a day or two, but plan to take it easy for at least the first week following surgery. You can plan to return to work after 7-10 days.

All brow lifts are performed in a private, accredited hospital under general anaesthetic with a qualified anaesthetist and usually take approximately 1.5 hours. You can go home the same day but will require someone to pick you up to care for you at least overnight and take you to Luxe Cosmetic Clinic for your post-op appointments.

Brow lift surgery is usually a one-time event.

[/toggle][toggle color=”Default” title=”Where will the scares be?”]

During a brow lift, discreet incisions are made within the scalp to minimise scarring. These subtle incisions will be concealed by the hair.

Our price including the surgeon’s fee, assistant’s fee, anesthetist’s fee, hospital stay and garments if necessary. Your surgeon and cosmetic surgery consultant will discuss and determine the costs on the day of your consultation.

There are no Medicare rebates as a facelift is a cosmetic procedure.

[/toggle][toggle color=”Default” title=”How do you avoid a surprised or startled look after brow lift surgery?”]

The startled look may be due to a misunderstanding of brow aesthetics on the part of the surgeon. What looks good for you will be unique. Our doctors strive for a soft and natural look.

Even though the lateral brow lift incisions heal remarkably, each person needs to be assessed individually to determine suitability.

[/toggle][toggle color=”Default” title=”Can you surgically remove frown lines?”]

Heavy frown lines are often treated with injectable fillers or muscle relaxing injections. The lines are caused by muscles underneath the skin. The muscle causing the vertical frown lines between the eyebrows can be surgically removed with or without a brow lift. Partial removal of this muscle via an upper eyelid incision can be performed. Generally between 60% to 80% of the muscle is removed resulting in a more relaxed look.
